Singh-Sein talks to focus on insurgents
Nagaland Post | Agencies | New Delhi, Mar 3 ()
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will hold bilateral talks with his Myanmar counterpart Thein Sein to bring focus on anti-India insurgent groups using safe hideouts in Myanmar to launch terror activities in the northeastern states. Singh will visit capital Naypyitaw for the seven-member Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) on March 4.
According to DNA report, the Indian security establishment is a worried lot due to delicate situation in the northeastern states in the light of an increasing chorus for statehood demands and increasing activities of anti-India insurgent groups, such as the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), United National Liberation Front (UNLF) from Manipur, United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), an anti-peace talks faction from Assam and the NSCN (K).
