Scrolls of Strife: The Endless History of the Nagas book released
Morung Express | Kohima March 24
Nagaland Senior Citizens Forum (NSCF) launched a book entitled “Scrolls of Strife: The Endless History of the Nagas.” This book is dedicated to the Nagas and authored by father and son duo, Dr. Homen Borgohain and Dr. Pradipta Borgohain. Dr. Pradipta Borgohain said that this book was written about the Nagas through the eye of the Nagas.
“Scrolls of Strife attempts to probe the tumultuous history of the Nagas-arguably the most distinctive but misunderstood race in India”, he said. Nagas have always fascinated writers from all over much more than any other Northeastern States, sometimes in the wrong light, said the author who holds a PhD in English from the University of Ilinios and an Associate Professor of English at Guwahati University.
He was also hopeful that this book will help clear the misconceptions that people from the mainland have about the Nagas and get a fair grasp about the Nagas. He also pointed out that this book was not to achieve national integrity but an attempt to humanize the long standing Naga cause. “We are trying to reflect the mind of the Naga people through this book”, he added.
