ST Demand : 'issues can be sorted out'

It is heartening to know that after the Manipur High Court had given its judgement on the question of genuiness and legitimacy of the claim of the Meetei people to include them in the list of Scheduled Tribes of the Indian Constitution, organizations representing indigenous Naga people had joined hands with the immigrant Kuki-Chin people.
This is historic! WMC truly believe that the reason for the indigenous people joining hands with the immigrant communities against the fellow indigenous people are the indigenous Naga fear that Meetei would grab their lands, their job quota, their reservations in institutions, maybe more. WMC's take on the immigrant communities in the matter is different.
We do not equate indigenous Naga people with the immigrant communities. What is important is the intimidating nature of the formidable alliance putting pressure on the state government to undo what the Hon'ble Court had done.
WMC would like to state that nothing can be sorted out by putting pressure on an issue where the question of survival of the Meetei people is involved. WMC would like to place before all that there may be issues among us but they can be sorted out across the table and that is the only way to find a logical conclusion. In the end let the Manipur government discharge its duty without fear or favour.
