SAYO to frisk Dzukou trekkers for plastic items
Nagaland Post | Kohima, Jul 5 (NPN)
Reiterating its stand to make Dzükou valley plastic-free zone, the Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) has informed that Dzükuo trekkers/visitors would be frisked and checked for plastic items. The organisation on Friday put up signboards on ‘DOs and DON’Ts’ of the valley at designated trekking route via Viswema and Jakhama, and also at the base camp of the valley. Volunteers have been deployed at Dzükou point, Viswema for checking of plastic items.
SAYO president Zakeleto Tsükrü said that trekkers are to register all non-biodegradable items they are to take along at the entry point and must bring all those items back on return journey and produce them at the entry point of the Dzükou valley at Viswema. He said trekkers were also required to pay per plastic item at the entry points, which would be reimbursed at the time of exit.
