Robert Naorem awarded 'the most inspirational designer of 2017' by India Fashion Week London and JD Institute of Fashion technology.
Robert Naorem showcased his "Weaves of valley & hills (Ching-tam)" collection of 14 outfits on 12th November 2017 at Olympia, London. The event was organized by Platinum exhibition Europe Ltd.
The collection was inspired by Manipur's cultural diversity and it includes designs inspired and fusion of by Kuki, Naga, Tangkhul, Kabui and Meitei designs and fabrics depicting the love and exchange of ethnic style of fashion amongst the different ethnic groups of Manipur.
Furthermore, the Meitei Mayek Script is used on the Inaphi as motif to promote regional scripts and seven clans of meitei; from music (pena & langdeng and sembung) to styling which made the crowd near to tears and received a huge amount of appreciation.

Moreover, European Manipur Association (EMA) witnessed the show in support of the event. Around 30 Manipuri from different communities of Manipur residing in England came down to give a cheer of support to the whole event.
The show kept everyone in awe because of its uniqueness. With the presence of exhibition stalls, many of the outfits got an owner of its own. Further enquiry of the textiles and fabrics were made with a notation of future relation.

As an appreciation of the collection and designs supporting the state weavers and promoting handloom of the state, Robert Naorem has been awarded "the most inspirational designer of 2017" by the organizing team of India Fashion Week London and JD Institute of Fashion technology.
