Rich tributes given to martyrs on Khongjom Day
Seven Sisters Post | UNI, Imphal (Apr 23):
Khongjom Day was observed at Khebaching in Thoubal district on Monday to pay tributes to all those who laid their lives in the Anglo-Manipur war of 1891.
Governor Gurbhachan Jagat, chief minister O Ibobi, ministers, MPs, MLAs and others attended the function.
Governor Gurbhachan Jagat said the day is observed in Manipur to mark the supreme sacrifices made by our forefathers who displayed indomitable courage and great spirit of patriotism for the cause of their motherland. The brave sons of the soil fought gallantly against the mightiest imperialist power and they never surrendered.
