Resolution of NPF Consultative Meeting
3rd August 2018, Kohima
RESOLUTION
A consultative Meeting of the NPF Central Office Bearers along with NPF Legislators of Nagaland & Manipur was held on 3rd August 2018 at NPF Office Kohima and the following resolutions were unanimously adopted.
Resolved to stand firm under the leadership of Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, President Naga People’s Front and Mr. T. R. Zeliang leader of the NPF Legislature Party. Further the house endorsed the President and the Leader of the NPF Legislature Party to take any final decision in the event of new political re-alignment with other political parties particularly in the state of Nagaland and Manipur.
Reiterate its stand on integration of all contiguous Naga Areas as enshrined in Party’s Constitution. And fervently appeal to the neighboring states to be rational on their approach on the Naga Political issue.
The House welcomes the suggestion of the Parliamentary Standing Committee for early solution of the Naga Political issue. However, the report of the Parliamentary Standing Committee in its present form which has been widely published in the print media has not touched the core issues and hence it may have to re-look the report on the Naga Political issue.
Further, urge upon the Government of India (GOI) and the Naga National Workers to expedite the Ongoing Political talk and bring to a logical conclusion. Further appeal to all other Naga National Groups who have not joined the peace process to reconsider their decisions in the interest of the Naga people.
Resolved to oppose the proposed Citizenship Amendment Act in its present form. Also urge upon the citizen of Nagaland to remain alert as many illegal immigrants are likely to enter Nagaland in view of the publication of National Register of Citizens (NRC) by Government of Assam. Further, the House urged the Government of Nagaland to gear up all government machineries to prevent and check illegal immigrants from neighboring states.
The meeting further expresses discontentment over the functioning of the present PDA government. The meeting observed that the PDA Government has failed on all fronts as it has not kept up to its promises made to the people during the past 147 days of its governance.
The meeting conveys its deepest condolence to the bereaved families who have been a victim of the incessant rain. While sympathizing with the people of Nagaland over the hardship faced by the common people owing to incessant rain, coupled with natural calamities, the NPF urge the Government of the day to ensure that normal activities of the citizens of Nagaland be protected by all means and restore the pathetic road conditions in the state at the earliest.
