Request for intervention on custodial death of Arambam Nanao

At least three human rights organisations have written to the Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) to monitor the investigation of the 'custodial' torture and death of Arambam Nanao on May 2 .
In a letter addressed to the Chairperson of MHRC, Civil Society Coalition on Human Rights in Manipur and the United Nations (CSCHR), Human Rights Alert (HRA) and Extrajudicial Execution Victim Families Association, Manipur (EEVFAM) said that Nanao was whisked away by some people in plain clothes on the morning of May 2 and it was later learnt that they were police team lead by Sub Inspector Jitendro Singh.
