The Executive team of Manipuri Meitei Association, Bangalore (MMAB), led by MMAB President Maj Rajkumar Jhaljit Singh (Retd.), Vice President Thokchom Romen, Gen. Secretary Nongthombam John, Publicity Secretary Yumnam Dhaneshwar, Media and Communication Strategy Wahengbam Bolin, and member Oinam Marjit, along with advisors Thiyam Jenial, P. Omprakash, and Ksh. Rajeev, recently visited Manipur during the ongoing crisis from September 10th to September 15th.
During the visit, we engaged with various key stakeholders, including CSOs, political leaders, and eminent personalities. The team also visited various remote relief camps in axis of Moirang, Thoubal, and Kangchup areas, which were challenging to access due to the ongoing situation. We delivered several DI truckloads of relief materials in preparation for the upcoming winter season in just three days.
Additionally, we interacted with children at these camps, providing them with hope and distributing books, sports items, food, and medical aid. MMAB collaborated with various NGOs for this initiative, with relief materials primarily sponsored by V.K.R Acharya Memorial Trust.
Furthermore, the team visited a school run by The Art of Living (AOL) in AOL Campus Phubala, Bishnupur District, Manipur, where we discussed with AOL team led by Shri Dixon Laishram how AOL could support the affected people from Phubala village and those living in Phubala relief camps.

MMAB’s visit had a clear objective: to understand the on-ground situation in Manipur and leverage the collective strength of the global Meitei community. The MMAB's core mission is to unify the Meitei diaspora worldwide and transform it into a powerful force capable of comprehensively contributing to Manipur's development.
Our focus areas include providing support within our limited capacity, participating in policymaking, and engaging with stakeholders on a global scale. We aim to tap into critical expertise from various fields to identify and realize opportunities for Manipur's advancement.
MMAB has made significant progress in global Meitei association engagement, addressing key issues in Manipur, and becoming a force multiplier.
MMAB also called on The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri N. Biren, and submitted a 5- point memorandum. The memorandum included the suspension of SoO, the opening of national highways to ensure they are free from extortion and intimidation, strengthening the international border to check illegal immigration, reconstruction and rehabilitation of the displaced, and the constitutional protection and provision of Scheduled Tribe status to the Meitei community.
MMAB's collective goal is to restore normalcy and safeguard the future of our state and our country.
