Regarding resignation of NPF Central Youth Wing Members
Kohima, 20th November 2019
The Central Youth Wing of the Naga People’s Front has been compelled to issue this press release to dispel the misconception and false impression created by the resignation of erstwhile office-bearers from the NPF Youth Wing, and who have embarked upon political-adventuring and purportedly joined the NDPP.
Their act can only be termed as a political adventure. While they were in office, they had no desire whatsoever to shoulder corporate responsibilities demanded by their designation and were solely occupied in furthering their personal interests.
It may be mentioned that, the disgruntled lot erstwhile office bearers were looking for an excuse to jump the fence and their defection was expected much earlier than this. Since when the NPF could not make it to form the Government, the so-called handful of group instead of playing their role as responsible opposition was very much restless.
Their defection also has a measure of desperation because they were unable to convince the NPF Leadership to elevate their position in the new party set-up that is going to come into effect after the Party Convention even though they lobbied hard for it.
Instead, their incessant lobbying against their own colleagues was considered as anti-party activity and they were about to be dropped from the new set-up. We suspect that their defection at this juncture, just when the NPF Party is about to effect an organizational restructuring is a futile effort to avoid the ignominy of being dropped from the NPF Youth Wing.
We can only wait and observe whether their personal ambitions will be realized by joining the NDPP and whether their new benefactors will bestow the trust and confidence that they desire upon them.
We confidently assert that the functional part of the NPF Youth Wing has not been affected at all by their resignation. In fact, we believe that the Wing will become more dynamic now that the aspect of cumbersomeness has been unwittingly addressed.
