Rebel leader quizzed on funds

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today began interrogation of Norem Priyo Kumar, alias Kesho Meitei, the “commander-in-chief” of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Mobile Task Force), on the outfit’s sources of funds and arms.
According to official sources, the interrogation started here this morning, a day after a special NIA court remanded the top KCP leader in NIA custody for a week.
Meitei, 37, was arrested by NIA sleuths with help of police from a hotel on Hill Cart Road in Siliguri on June 11. Cash amounting to Rs 1.26 lakh, an ID card and several debit and credit cards were recovered from him.
