Rail route to Manipur awaits completion
Nagaland Post | Agencies | Guwahati, Feb 16
As Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya are on the threshold of being connected to the national railway grid, more than a decade after their projects were announced, another national project announced in 2004 to take the first rail to Manipur is yet to be complete.
The 110-km Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal project was supposed to be complete by 2016, which has been revised to 2018 and the Centre has attributed the delay to insurgency, frequent bandhs and prolonged economic blockades.
