Pune opens its heart to Northeast friends
DNA | Team DNA| Aug 18, 2012, 15:07 IST
Even as around 1,500 people hailing from the North East left the city in a huff citing security reasons, Puneites literally opened their hearts and doors to help and stop them from going back.
While some went out of their way to accommodate their northeastern brethrens in distress, many arranged and distributed food packets for those who were leaving the city.
Concerned with the fate of his friend from Manipur, Puneite Abhishek Mistry has asked Peter L to move into his home. Talking to DNA, Abhishek said, “We both are students of geoinformatics. Both of us joined the course a month late which is why we ended up becoming friends. Now Peter is in danger and I want him to be safe."
