Probe on into NE ultras' investments in Guwahati
Assam Tribune | R Dutta Choudhury | Guwahati, Jan 5
The security agencies are probing into the possible investments by members of militant outfits of the North Eastern region in Guwahati after receiving some vital inputs in this regard.
Highly placed security sources told The Assam Tribune that they have got some leads into the possible investments of the militants in Guwahati and “we have taken serious note of it to probe into the leads.” However, sources admitted that it is too early to make an assumption into the volume of the investments by the militants.
Sources pointed out that senior members of militant outfits of North East frequently visit Guwahati for treatment and to use the city as safe hideouts and there have been reports of investments by the militants. The militants normally invest their money with the persons whom they can trust and under normal circumstances, they would not like to invest in a far away place.
