Press Rejoinder from NPF
07th January, 2019, Kohima
The Naga People’s Front ridiculed the NDPP’s press communique that appeared in the local dailies of their one sided of the story and the much hype concocted version to defend its master from his sinking boat.
As far as the poaching of NPF MLAs issue is concern, the NDPP supremo and the PDA Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio had on several times tried his best to play his old games on the much committed and sincere NPF MLAs, but the NPF be it its MLAs or the party rank and file can never succumb to his old tricks.
It is the fact that Rio though, riding the Government’s chair at this moment is not certain when his fortune machine power will come to a halt. Despite, with his shaky coalition partners in running the affair of the state, Rio is reeling under darkness as any moment if he cannot please his partners, he knows well that his great wall of PDA government may collapse anytime. Therefore, it is expected that with a handful of 17 MLAs, the NDPP may having a tough time keeping vigil round the clock to keep its PDA coalition partners alive.
However, time and again, the NPF reminded and asserted that NPF will play a constructive opposition and work for the welfare of the Naga people and the party is never interested to topple the PDA coalition government as it will fall itself any moment.
The NPF also reiterated that regardless of treasury bench or opposition, all the party rank and file and its 26 MLAs is intact and committed to work for the welfare of the Naga society.
Nevertheless, the NPF will work accordingly as supposed to per the interest of the people and the call of the time and once again reminded the NDPP that the PDA Government dooms day is soon approaching.
The NPF also amused to see the NDPP led PDA Government mute over the much controversial and talk on the Citizenship Amendment Bill (2016). When the whole region is against the bill, which will directly effect not only the Nagaland state but the whole of the Northeastern region, and inspite of the opposition NPF knocking the door of the government over issue time and again keeping in mind, once the bill is introduce, it will greatly effect the state, the PDA government prefer to remain tight lipped and its Chief Minister turn deaf ear.
Even though, the Chief Minister is least bothered with the future of the Naga people, the Nagas cannot be taken for a joy-ride or be convinced by his silent.
Therefore, the NPF called upon the Chief Minister even though he is least bothered as an individual over the bill but being the head of the state should make his government stand clear on such a burning issue for the sake of the welfare of the people and suggest the ruling party not to divert the issue just for the sake of the publicity but to work tirelessly for the Naga people.
