The passing out parade of 39th batch basic course will be held on 21st December 2013 at NEPA. Dr Krishan Kant Paul, the Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya, will review the Parade. This basic course batch consist 135 trainees (49 DySP Probationers, 1 Inspector trainee, 83 Cadet Sub Inspectors and 2 Cadet Assistant Sub Inspectors) from the States of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Sikkim.
These trainee officers began their training from 29th January 2013. All 135 trainees have passed their exams and qualified to pass out from NEPA. Though all trainees performed well, some trainees have performed excelled in certain subjects / areas and qualified themselves to receive medals and trophies.
Till 2012, NEPA had trained 492 DySP probationers and 2329 Cadet SIs / ASIs. The basic course trainees of NEPA are given training as per approved syllabus of BPR&D. The indoor subjects are taught in three categories viz
(1) Police Sciences
(2) Legal Studies and
(3) Social Sciences.
The outdoor subjects comprises – Police operations, Weapon training, Drill and Physical efficiency. They are also trained on Driving, Rock climbing, Horse-riding, Disaster Management, First-aid, etc. They are also given jungle-camp training, night firing, etc. The basic course trainees are also given training in latest AV equipments like Driving Simulator, Firing Simulator, etc.
The Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya in his address, appreciating efforts made by all, congratulated the young officers, Shri A K Mathur, IPS, Director & staff of NEPA and distributed the Trophies & Medals to the winners. The Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya also inaugurated newly constructed ‘Indoor Sports Complex’ having facilities for many indoor games.
