PM skirts Naga talks issue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today remained silent on the ongoing Naga peace process or a special financial package for Nagaland. At the Hornbill Festival at Kisama, which the Prime Minister inaugurated amid the traditional war cry that echoed among the lush green hills of the state, Nagaland chief minister T.R. Zeliang told Modi that the people were eager for an end to the decades-long imbroglio and urged the Centre to expedite the peace process.
The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN), led by Isak Chishi Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah, had also pinned its hopes on Modi’s visit.
