Outreach Programme on Swachhta Action Plan at Canchipur

A one day Special Outreach Programme on Swachhta Action Plan was organized by the Field Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal at Temple of Learning, Canchipur, Imphal West District today. The programme was presided by Shri Y. Gopal Singh, Principal, Temple of Learning, Canchipur.
During the communication and information dissemination programme it was explained that Swachhta Action Plan is a milestone initiative in mainstreaming Swachhta elements across all sectors of the Government in an elaborate, accountable, and sustained manner to realize the Swachh Bharat of Prime Minister's vision and Gandhiji's dream.
Shri Thokchom Anthony, Field Publicity Officer, Field Outreach Bureau, Imphal elaborately explained on Swachh Survekshan which is commencing from 4th January to 31st January, 2019. He also requested the students who are mobile phone savvy to download Swachhta app from Google playstore for taking photographs of garbage piled up in and around Imphal city and upload the same for the municipality to clean it up within 24 hours.
In his presidential speech, the functional president Shri Y. Gopal Singh, Principal, Temple of Learning, Canchipur sought the co-operation of the students and the general public to make India “Swachh” by 2nd October, 2019.
A quiz competition was also held on the same theme. Shri Thingbaijam Sanamatum Singh, Mayengbam Reena and Elangbam Joymati were the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners respectively of the contest. Certificates for active participation were also distributed to other students. The prizes were given away by the functional president of the programme.
