Only 2 persons cast vote in a polling station in Senapati
Nagaland Post | Imphal, March 4 2012
Interestingly, only five voters turned up to cast votes in two polling stations (47/44 and 47/45 polling stations located in Thingba Khullen village of Karong A/C) till the end of the polling hour. Polling in these two booths started late afternoon, around 2 p.m. Sunday.
An official report said only two voters exercised their franchise at Thingba Khullen and three in Thingba Khullen-B.
The official report said that the villagers refrained from voting following threat from an armed group under cease-fire agreement with the Government of India. The report added that another round of re-poll was likely to be ordered in these polling stations.
