The official minutes of the 10th meeting of the Forest Advisory Committee (FAC) of the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), India that strongly recommended the rejection of the application for forest clearance for the Proposed Tipaimukh Hydroelectric Project to be constructed in Manipur at the border of Manipur, Mizoram and Assam. The MoEF has the ball now in its court whether to accept the recommendation for its expert Committee or not. However, the norm is that the FAC's recommendations are accepted.
