Northest insurgents still active in Myanmar Ministry of Home Affairs
Nagaland Post | New Delhi, Aug 28 (NPN)
Even after Myanmar had assured Prime Minister of India of neutralizing Northeast insurgent camps functioning within Myanmar’s territory, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said that the Indian insurgent groups continue to use Myanmar territory as safe haven.
Myanmar had given a categorical assurance to India during the recent visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that it will launch a massive offensive against Indian militant outfits running terror camps from its soil.
However, Mullappally Ramachandran, Minister of state of Home Affairs in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha Tuesday said “Manipur based insurgent groups like PLA, UNLF, PREPAK; Naga insurgent group like NSCN (K) and ULFA (Anti-talk) faction and NDFB have their camps/hideouts in Myanmar Naga Hills”.
