North East industry bodies plead Centre not to cap transport subsidy scheme

ndustry bodies in the northeast have asked the Centre not to limit the quantum of transport subsidy scheme (TSS) under the North-East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy, 2007 (NEIIPP). The Centre is contemplating doing so in view of allegations of large-scale leakages in the scheme.
The industrial bodies - Federation of Industry and Commerce of North eastern Region (FINER), North Eastern Small Scale Industries Association (NESSIA) and All Assam Small Scale Industries Association (AASSIA) - in a memorandum to Singh requested him not to put a cap the transport subsidy.
