About NEIFW:
Northeast India Fashion Week (NEIFW) is an annual event which has conducted five fashion related events since its inception. Since then, the organisers of the NEIFW have worked tirelessly towards promoting the handloom and handicrafts of Northeast India significantly at the grassroot level. While conducting its annual event it has provided a level playing platform for not only the exuberant and extremely talented fashion industry of the northeast India but also its local artisans and weavers.
The NEIFW has enabled unifying local designers and artisans to revive and globalize the handlooms and handicrafts of the northeast and thereby has encouraged traditional artisans to recreate their art. In its previous editions, NEIFW has received immense support, both financial and intellectual from various state and central government departments as well as important public sector undertakings.
Over the past years, it has seen growing participation that has attracted celebrities from not just the fashion industry but also from movie and music industries. NEIFW has been endorsed by celebrities like Adil Hussain, Ash King, Minisha Lamba, Rajni Basumatary, etc., and various other state dignitaries in its previous instalments.
