New fish species discovered in Assam

A new fish species has been discovered in Dima Hasao district of Assam by a three member specialist team from Manipur and Assam. The new fish called Garra clavirostris, is a cyprinid fish.
It was found in the Dilaima river, a tributary of Brahmaputra in Dima Hasao district, by Thaosen Sarbojit of Haflong Government College, Narengbam Roni and Prof Waikhom Vishwanath of Manipur University’s Life Science department.
