New centre to facilitate Tech access to NE

The Union Cabinet today cleared a proposal to set up an autonomous organisation ‘North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach‘ (Nectar) at Shillong at a total cost of Rs 292 crore.
The institute is proposed to be established during the 12th Five-year Plan period, as a society under the Societies Registration Act 1860, under the Department of Science and Technology.
