Narendra Modi requested not to visit Renkoji Temple in Japan
30th August, 2014:
The Netaji Subhas Kranti Manch has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to visit Renkoji Temple during his forthcoming visit to Japan.
" We have learnt from the media reports that you are likely to vist Renkoji Temple in Tokyo during this visit. May we humbly request you not to visit Renkoji Temple because for the Indians the only importance of the Renkoji Temple is that the alleged ashes of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose are lying there," said V.P Saini , Convenor of the NSKM in a letter to Modi.
The Mukherjee Commission of enquiry appointed by the N.D.A. Government led by Mr. Atal Behari Vajpaee had concluded that the ashes in the Japanese temple are not of Netaji:.
" Though the U.P.A. Govt. led by the Congress party had rejected the report of this Commission, yet all the membes of B.J.P. at that time had supported the report of this Commission during the discussion in Parliament. Hence you should not visit the Renkoji temple. Your visit to the Renkoji temple will send wrong signals about the attitude and intentions of your government towards Netaji, " Saini said in the letter.
He appealed to the Prime MInister to accept the report of the Mukherjee Commission.
" In the light of this report, please be kind enough to find out what, when and where ultimately happened to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The countrymen have a right to know about the ultimate fate of the legendary hero Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, " Saini said in the letter.
The NSKM also demanded that the Modi government must declassify all secret files about Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, which successive Congress governments have refused to .
It also wants the government to declare 23rd January, the birthday of Bose, as 'Patriotism Day" as Nehru birthday, 14th November, is 'Children Day'.
" Is he not the ultimate symbol of Patriotism, is there any doubt about it ," Saini said.
