Nagas in Manipur rejected NPF referendum says NPCC
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, Mar 10 (NPN)
NPCC also maintained that NPF’s entry into Manipur was a “blessing in disguise” for Ibobi Singh who did not campaign “even once” in the hill districts where people “voluntarily voted without any outside influence”.
NPCC claimed that NPF has “no real concern for Nagas in Manipur” as Nagas in Manipur knew, that they “have never been separated emotionally”. It said Nagas also understood that even if all 20 seats in the hill districts were won by Nagas, it would still fall short of the required number to mover the agenda of integration in the Manipur assembly.
Admitting that the Nagaland assembly had passed four resolutions for integration as enshrined under Clause 13 of the 16-Point Agreement, NPCC asked how could the NPF accuse the Congress of being against integration? It reminded that in 1994 house resolved for integration under the Congress regime headed by Dr. S.C. Jamir.
It said in Delhi, NPF leaders “camouflage themselves as ex-Congressmen” running door to door of Congress leaders “begging for additional funds and special financial assistances”.
