Nagas in Delhi remember Oinam

Nagas in Delhi today observed the 25th anniversary of Operation Bluebird, 1987 on July 9 at Don Bosco Provincial House in New Delhi. The military operation by the Indian military is remembered as one of the most atrocious events in the history of the Nagas in Manipur.
Programme convener Ngaoni Railang said that the day always bring reminiscences of one of the most tragic events to have happened in the history of Oinam Hill Village and surrounding villages. “Over 25 years have elapsed since the evidence of gross human rights violations was recorded by Gauhati High Court, but justice was elusive as the court never gave the judgment. The judges who heard the case were transferred and promoted,’ he said.
