Nagaland All-party team to meet central and NSCN-IM leaders
The Telegraph | Kohima, July 19:
The joint parliamentary forum of the Nagaland Assembly today decided to send an all-party delegation to New Delhi to extend support to the ongoing peace talks vis-à-vis the proposed “interim agreement” likely to be signed by October.
The sources said the Centre and the NSCN (I-M) had agreed on joint military and foreign affairs, common currency and a separate flag for Nagalim (land of Nagas), which would indicate shared sovereignty with India.
But some points, relating to land and natural resources, the period of interim arrangement and depositing of arms of the over 15,000-strong Naga army, are yet to be finalised. The sources said the NSCN (I-M) had so far refused to deposit the weapons during the interim period as it would tantamount to surrender.
