NSCN (K) not to attend today's reconciliation meet
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, Feb 28 (NPN)
In what could prove a damper to the much hyped ‘Naga Reconciliation’ convened by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation(FNR), the NSCN (K) will not be attending the ‘Naga reconciliation meeting’ called by Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR)Wednesday at at Agri expo centre, Dimapur.
Confirming this to this Reporter over phone Tuesday, Supervisor of the NSCN (K) Cease-Fire Supervisory Board (CFSB)Wangtin Naga said the non-attendance by the NSCN(K) despite the go ahead given by its cabinet was due to what he described as continuing violations of the Covenant of Reconciliation (CoR) by other factions.
Wangtin pointed out that the decision of the NSCN(K) not to participate in future FNR meetings had led to non attendance of the September 18,2010 meeting of the highest level leaders due to violations of the CoR on several occasions.
He said that “peace was prevailing” till now as NSCN (K) had no “intention” to kill any Nagas but added that it was “very hard to tolerate” the “violent activities” of other Naga groups who had “never heed” to the “peace call” of the Nagas.
