Addressing a massive gathering that included representatives of prominent Naga civil society groups and host of leaders and public from neighboring villages “Lt. Gen” Niki Sumi said that “political rights of the Nagas” cannot be compromised at the expense of some “packages” involving “petty” issues in the guise of solution to the Indo-Naga imbroglio.
Sumi asserted that NSCN (K) is not averse to the call of the Nagas for peace, unity and reconciliation. However, the ‘military supervisor’ cautioned those working towards this goal against succumbing to the diktats and designs of the Government of India whom he held responsible for division among the Nagas through its “infamous” Shillong Accord.
Blaming the Government of India for sowing the seeds of disintegration among the Nagas, Sumi said “Today Naga society is overflowing with tribalism, groupism and now factionalism and this has stalled the Nagas from standing for our own political right.
