NPF Govt spent 30 Crore for Manipur polls - Congress
Morung Express | February 19 (MExN) | Dimapur:
The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has asked the Naga People's Front (NPF) to stop hoodwinking the public with rhetoric in the face of current realities in the state such as law and order and corruption. "The failures of the NPF-led DAN govt. are there like an open book for all to see. There was nothing to hide," the Congress said.
Instances such as the audacity of the Nagaland government in spending Rs 30 crore in the Manipur elections when Nagaland owes Rs 800 crore in deficit demands an explanation to the people, the NPCC said in a statement today. Another instance that the Congress used to illustrate the government’s meek ways was the NSCN (IM) bandh in Nagaland recently.
Nagaland State's deficit has crossed Rs.800 cr. but the NPF had the audacity to spend over Rs. 30 cr. for election in Manipur. The NPF's foolish dream of ruling in two States has been draining the State's economy. The NPF owes an explanation to the people of Nagaland for such lavish unaccounted spending."
The NPCC ridiculed the NPF for having "guilt and fear that the Centre may impose President's Rule in Nagaland on account of failing to carry out the Constitutional duty and responsibility."
The opposition tells the NPF party and the coalition government that the 'ignorant masses may be fooled with such double face.' However, the opposition reminded, educated people who have the intellect to see right from wrong feel that the demand of the NPCC for dismissal of the DAN government for its excesses is legitimate. "The reactions of the people in the social networks proved it," the NPCC added.
