NPCC takes a dig at NPF achievement in Manipur polls
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, Mar 8 (NPN)
NPCC said when “territorial integration” was not achievable, “our brothers and sisters of Manipur” understood that they had to live “in harmony with the Meiteis”, the majority community in Manipur.
Further it said in Ukhrul district, supposed to be UNC stronghold, NPF won “one seat only with a razor thin margin of 86 votes” whereas the rest two seats went to Congress.
In Tamenglong district, where Nagas were in majority, NPF could not win even a single seat, it said. NPCC reminded that in 2007 Manipur Assembly election, UNC had backed 11 candidates and won 6 seats but this time, NPF set up 12 candidates and won four seats only.
It also advised the NPF should first ask the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam if they were ready for “integration” before setting up candidates in these states.
