NMC Healthcare plans to set up hospital in Manipur

Indian-born B.R.Shetty, the founder, MD & CEO of NMC Healthcare, an integrated healthcare company with a wide network of hospitals, medical centres, and pharmacies across the UAE, has given his commitment to set up a hospital-cum- medical college in the north eastern state of Manipur, during a meeting with Indian health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, at the annual Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.
"India suffers from a huge shortage of doctors, nurses and medical colleges. I am now firmly committed to setting up a medical college cum hospital in India as my first venture in this country," Shetty, who owns the the entire 100th floor of Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which is the world's tallest apartment tower, told ET.
