NHRC seeks report on 'encounter' near Maphou Dam
Seven Sisters Post | Guwahati (June 6):
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought a report on the alleged torture and the extrajudicial killings of three indigenous Meitei people by Assam Rifles near Maphou Dam in Nongdam village of Ukhrul.
The complainant alleged that the three persons were killed in a staged encounter by the personnel belonging to 23rd Assam Rifles.
