NEHU set to rock tomorrow (June 21) On World Music Day

On World Music Day, the Northeast will be brought under a single roof on the North Eastern Hill University (Nehu) campus, where performers in folk music from the eight states will showcase their musical aptitude.
Dubbed the North East Music Festival 2012, the Thursday concert of fusion folk at the Nehu Convocation Centre, Mawlai, is an initiative of the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, in collaboration with the state department of arts and culture and Nehu.
The performers include Omak Komut Collective (Arunachal Pradesh), Assam Bamboo Band (Assam), Rewben Mashangva (Manipur), Shillong Chamber Choir and Voices “Na Rympei” (Meghalaya), Riakmaw Musical Band (Mizoram), Nagagenous (Nagaland), Sofyuim (Sikkim) and Chanu Miah and Group (Tripura).
