Mizoram Speaker faces anti-Mofar heat

Mizoram assembly speaker R Romawia has drawn flak for rejecting private resolutions and special motion against Punjab MLA Ajit Singh Mofar’s controversial stray-dogs remark. The Mizoram People’s Conference spokesperson and former assembly speaker Kenneth Chawngliana told a press conference today that his party submitted five private members’ resolutions to counter the Punjab MLA’s “derogatory and communal remarks.”
“In Manipur state assembly, Trinamool Congress legislator Dr Ibohandi raised the issue for discussion following which the state assembly passed a resolution condemning the remark of Mofar and termed it as unparliamentarily and communal,” Chawngliana pointed out.
