Mission 'Go to Village'
Joupi Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles in close liaison with the local administration has undertaken various initiatives in the past with an aim to uplift the social and economic conditions of local populace. To further improve the governance in the area, the Battalion organized a ‘Go to Village’ program with the help of district administration on 17 July 2018 at the Battalion HQ.
Chandel district is one of the remote district’s of Manipur characterized by hilly terrain, inclement weather, social backwardness and under developed basic infrastructure. A total of 15 departments under district administration along with the staff were invited to visit Joupi and address the core issues of health care, social welfare, agriculture, education and other social developing schemes with the locals.
Mr T Ranjit Singh, Secretary, CAF & PD, Shri Krishna Kumar, DC Chandel, Col Sachin Jain, SM, Commandant, Joupi Battalion and other staff members were present to grace the occasion. The event was extremely fruitful with the administration support given by Joupi Battalion.

All the villagers who participated in the program were benefitted by various development schemes extended by the state government.
The battalion has been working tirelessly towards the betterment of the society in the underdeveloped region assuring full support and active participation in all endeavors to improve the governance and implementing the socio- economic beneficiary schemes for the holistic development of the society.
In a separate incident on 16 July 2018, Mr Jibon, a truck driver aged 48 years resident of Khongson Basti, while negotiating a sharp turn lost control of brakes and met with an accident near Power House, Joupi. Commandant Col Sachin Jain, SM along with his Quick Reaction Team immediately rushed to the site and brought the victim to the unit hospital.
First aid was administered to the injured person under supervision Comdt Satish Kumar, Chief Medical Officer and his medical team. The immediate assistance by CO’s Quick Reaction Team and the medical team with limited resources is testimony to the professional and military zeal of Assam Rifles.
