Meluri Village Council (MVC) reacts to Jessami village council (JVC) allegation
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, Apr 19 (NPN):
According to Meluri village council chairman Rholetho and secretary Kuothosie the present place of dispute was first ignited by Jessami villagers on the pretext of cutting jhum and firewood, adding the real intention of Jessami villagers was to grab lands in the process.
Meanwhile, the Meluri village has cautioned that from now on Jessami villagers, who violated in any manner, would be “penalized and no consideration shall be made to the defaulters.”
MVC affirmed it would never give an inch of “our traditional land” and would re-occupy all the lands even donated by our forefathers. “We shall in any manner defend our inheritance with truth and pride. We declare and inform the Jessami villagers that we are ready for any eventuality at any time,” declared the Meluri village council.
