Shree Mayanglambam Gourachandra : Gaveshnabhusan 2017 : Manipuri literature

Shree Mayanglambam Gourachandra is born on 13th of December, 1945 at Kakching Makha Leikai in Kakching district.
Born to Mayanglambam Gulap and Mayanglambam Ongbi Yengkhom ningol Padmukhi Devi, Mayanglambam Gourachandra is a learned scholar in the field of ancient literature and tradition of Manipur.
He has transliterated fifteen books and published it as well as based on his research work, he has published ten books.

Thawan thaba Hiran,
Meitei gi ariba Seitha,
Irat Thounirol,
Ariba Meiteilol gi Ramayan,
Phouoibi Warol,
Ariba na ki saktam sing, and
Meiteilon gi Vyakaran.
He was also the founder secretary of People’s Museum, Kakching.
And he had been member of various Unions such as Manipur State Kala Akademi, Manipur State Archives, Kakching Dramatic Union, and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi. And he has been awarded with various senior fellowships.
In 2006 Naharol Sahitya Premi Samiti, Imphal conferred him with Moirangthem Narendra Memorial Gold Medal 2006, Pandit Naorem Amuyaima Ningsing Mana(Kala-Sanskriti) 2011 by Writer’s Association, Kakching and Macha Chanu, Kakching awarded him the Ariba Manipuri Khorirol, Nat amadi Puwari yokhatnaba piba mana.
In recognition of his contribution to Manipuri literature and culture, Manipur Sahitya Parishad, in their 82nd annual meeting, conferred him with Gaveshnabhusan title.
