Maruti eyes 60% of N-E market
The Telegraph | Khelen Thokchom | Imphal, April 15:
Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Ltd will look to sustain growth in the small car segment in the Northeast and hog a market share of 60 per cent by the end of this fiscal.
“Currently, we have a 55 per cent market share in the Northeast with over 70 per cent share in the entry car segment. Of this, Alto has a share of 45 per cent. We will try and sustain the loyalty that we have enjoyed in the entry car segment over the decades. By the end of the financial year 2012-13, we are eyeing a market share of 60 per cent,” said Debjyoti Dutta, regional manager (Northeast) at the launch of the “Life Utility Vehicle” — Ertiga — in Guwahati on Thursday.
Maruti has 19 dealerships in the Northeast, of which three are in Guwahati, apart from 12 e-outlets. “We are looking to strengthen our dealer network. As of now, Guwahati will have its fourth dealership by June,” he added.
