Manmohan Singh to raise Naga rebel group truce with Myanmar

During his three-day visit to Naypyidaw and Yangon, the Prime Minister will ask Myanmar President U Thein Sein to rectify inadequacies in security cooperation between the two countries, sources said. There is impatience in the security establishment, as Myanmar has not fulfilled promises on not sheltering Indian militants.
Myanmar had entered into a peace agreement with the Khaplang faction of NSCN at Khamti on April 9. At least one of the signatories was an Indian — Y. Wangtin Naga, a Konyak Naga from Nagaland.
Yangon did not inform and intelligence agencies could not get a whiff of that agreement until it happened. India came to know of it only after it was signed between Myanmar and six NSCN (K) members
