Manipur to get nine all-women police stations

The Manipur government has decided to open an all-women police station in each of the nine districts in the State. Sources told The Hindu that this to enable police to curb the increasing crime against women. Of late there has been an uptrend in crimes like rapes, murders and other forms of inhuman tortures of women.
The construction work for setting up of these police stations in most of the districts is nearing completion. Home Minister Gaikhangam Gangmei feels that this will go a long way in the protection of women
