Manipur scribes demand colleague's release

Journalists here marched late last night from Manipur Press Club to the Chief Minister’s official bungalow demanding the release of a colleague who was arrested by Manipur police for uploading a post on social media which allegedly contained defamatory remarks.
Kishorchandra Wangkhemcha, who is working with IS TV, a local cable television news network, is still in the custody of the police till the filing of this report. The journalist was arrested on August 9.
