Manipur protests detention of trucks
The Telegraph | Imphal, Aug. 1:
Deputy chief minister Yumnam Joykumar Singh today said in the Assembly that the Manipur government would lodge a complaint with the GST Council against the detention of two trucks from the state at a police station in neighbouring Nagaland.
Joykishan drew the attention to a report published in a local vernacular daily a few days back that Nagaland police detained two trucks coming towards Imphal at Khujuma police station on July 28 "without any reason".
Alleging that such "harassment" of drivers of Manipur-bound supply trucks while passing through Nagaland has become a "regular feature", he demanded that the matter be taken up with the Nagaland government.
