Manipur number game begins Repolls draw voters' flak - Thrice in a row
The Telegraph | Imphal, March 4 2012
Voters of Modi polling station in Chandel Assembly constituency were furious today as they had to queue up in front of booths under the scorching sun for the third time during this election season.
The polling booth set up inside a primary school in Chandel district, 5km south of Japhou bazaar the district headquarters, is one of the 67 polling stations which went to repoll today under tight security measures.
“I cast vote for the third time as our polling station had a repoll on February 4 after the first polling was held on January 29. This is not nice and the election has lost its meaning,” S.R. John, 50, a voter said.
Naga Peoples’ Front spokesperson Somi Keishing was also furious. “Why only in hills? There are constituencies in the valley where serious electoral malpractice was committed, but no repoll was ordered,” Keishing, who was observing the polling process at Modi station told The Telegraph.
