Manipur Students' Association, Pune (MSAP) Organizes Sports Meet – 2012-13

The Manipur Students' Association, Pune (MSAP) organized a Sports Meet – 2012-13 at ShriShahuMandirMahavidyalaya, ParvatiRamana, Pune - 411009, which was held on 2nd and 3rd February, 2013, under the Theme – PEACE & UNITY. As with every year, the event is being held under the aegis of MSAP.Every year, the event is getting bigger and more popular and more participation as well. First day of the sports meet, Mr. Huidrom Narendra, Senior Scientist, Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology,graced the function by lighting up the torch.
Contrary to our expectation that the event will be attended by just youths, the grand and beautiful event was attended by more than 500 people including students and families who are staying in Pune and nearby places like Mumbai, Ahmednagar and Nashik (Maharashtra). People of all age groups, including men and women who are more than 60 years old and kids from all communities participated in the Sports Meet. Maximum participants from younger age group have shown their enthusiastic to lead the sporting eventtowards successful organization and they have proved that Manipur is truly a Land of Sports. It was one of the most exciting event, with full of vigour and energy, ever in the history of MSAP here in Pune. One of the organizers said: "It's not easy, to put up such an event in spite of all the hardships we faced, Yet, satisfied that all went well".

Tug of War (Ladies special),
Chocolate Race (Children),
Hot Potato Race (Children),
Blind Hit (Girls & Women),
Shot Put,
Spoon Race,
Music Chair (Girls),
Misc.
One of the special attractions of this event was the football match between the Team Ahanlup (Seniors)andTeam Naharup (Juniors). The never tiring seniors displayedextraordinary skills, which the youngsters really admired. Both the teams played their heart out.The Naharup team too played equally well with heart of steel. Finally the Ahanlup team took it home with (2-1). We loved to watch the play and every other event of the meet.

We, on behalf of MASAP, extend special thanks to our elders, who are in Maharashtra, for their guidance, financial, physical and moral support. As always, they encouraged and supported us right from the beginning, including but not limited to, the planning of this event till the end and complete execution.Their exemplaryand all round contribution is one of the biggest credits for the success of this Sports Meet – 2012-13.
It was really amazing to see the tempo and energy with which the senior Players entertained the crowd during the never tiring match. Credit also goes to all the Executive Members of MSAP, players, and spectators andnot to forget, all the Volunteers who worked theirs sweatout, and remained, from beginning till end,with uncompromising dedication and sacrifice.

And the closure of the glittering event was marked by a gigantic "PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY" which was a part of Sports Meet – 2012-13 wherein we invited all the Manipuris and other people from different community as Guests to the gathering. This was mesmerizing,appealing and added more value to theevent. Distinguished Guests uttered that organizing such meets help us to know and understand each other better, increase the Equality, Peace and Unity in the region.
As we know, the Manipur Students' Association, Pune (MSAP) was formed in 1973. Its motto is "LEARN, SERVE & EXCEL". We are confident that the motto of the association will completely excel to the destination. We do look forward to more and more support from elders and others in order to improvise and guide the association in the right direction. Hoping to see you all in the next edition of this meet.
