Mailbag in Imphal river; postmen get marching orders
The Hindu | Iboyaima Laithangbam | February 23, 2014 03:14 IST
A mailbag containing 737 Aadhaar cards, 19 insurance policies and letters were recovered from the Imphal river near Chekkon on Saturday, leading to the suspension of the postmaster of a post office in Imphal east district.
It is suspected that postmen dumped the bag in the river. Some articles have been swept away. Those retrieved are of no use since water has damaged them.
