Assam Tribune | Jan 19, 2012 | Imphal:
Political parties in Manipur have promised to enact a legislation toeffectively counter and control the menace of economic blockade on highways in the blockade-prone State.
The Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP), a regional party, assured to enact Manipur Highway Protection Act (MHPA) if they are voted to power in the January 28 Assembly polls even as the recently formed five-party non-Congress alliance Peoples’ Democratic Front (PDF) and Communist Party of India (CPI) promised a Highway Protection Force (HPF).
