Ref. no. : 20130302
Manipur Students' Association Delhi (MSAD) strongly condemns the incident of physical attack, without any reasons, on ten students from Manipur in Patel Chest, near Delhi University North Campus on the night of 24th February 2013. One of the victims, who is a student staying in Jubilee Hall, Delhi University, was injured seriously and had head injury, subarachnoid, haemorrhage which referred him in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Sant Parmanand Hospital.
Another victim was injured on face, neck, head and abdomen.
An FIR was lodged against the culprits who committed the crime in Maurice Nagar Police Station. It is very unfortunate that such attack took place within 200 m radius of the University of Delhi and the Maurice Nagar Police Station and, therefore, the students especially from the north-east studying in the University feel insecure inside the University Campus.
MSAD, therefore, resolved to demand immediate punishment of the culprits according to law and to give medical compensation to the victims. MSAD also strongly appeal to tighten security so that students would feel secure around the university campus and such kind of incident does not happen further in Delhi.
MSAD also stands to face any threat, if given, to the victims or anyone related to them during the case.
